Chapter 9

The days seem to rush by, the closer they got to the full moon the more anxious and on edge everyone was. The Council stayed on Pack lands for three days, they wanted to make sure they did a thorough walk through of the land. When they found no areas of concern, they turned their attention to David and Derik. They gave up the information they wanted easily; the other two men that had been involved in the plan for the Red Wolf were killed by Alexander outside of their Pack House the day they went to get Amelia back. They swore no one else had been involved, neither the Council nor Alexander believed that. Someone else must be aware, someone that would be able to get the Rogue’s to cooperate in the first place. David and Derik were just the ones doing the dirty work. They would find out who was behind it all soon, the full moon was tomorrow night, they would have to do something now or they would lose their only chance at finding all wolves involved.

Alexander and the Council decided that they would keep that information to themselves. Amelia did not need to worry any more than she already was. She tried to remain calm, but he could tell she was becoming more nervous every day. She was only a day away from blending with the Red Wolf, she had to stay ready just in case. Amelia would stay in the Pack House for the rest of the day and through tomorrow, the entire Pack was on high alert and all warriors were patrolling. Alexander did not leave her side for longer than twenty minutes, Carson stayed with her when he had to leave her. They spent their days binge watching shows or movies they never had the chance to stop and watch. She was becoming stir crazy, but she never complained, they would have lots of time to go out in just a few days.

The day went by slowly, Amelia was grateful when dinner finally arrived, they would be in the dining hall greeting the rest of the Council. They had decided that the best course of action would be to have the entire council and their guards on Pack lands to discourage any issues. Amelia was not as worried as she probably should have been, she knew that with so little time left, they would go for the kill. Compared to what the others had done, that would not be as awful. She did not want to be taken from Alexander, but she knew if it came to it, death would be the only outcome.

“Are you ready to head down?”

“Yes.”

“It’s going to be okay; the Pack lands are full of warriors, and I will not leave you alone.”

“I am surprising calm; tomorrow is the day we have been waiting months for. If anyone were to try anything it would have to be quick and after David and Derik, that would not be the worst thing.
